Toyota RAV 4


The Toyota RAV4 was originally sold in Europe and Toyota's home country of Japan from when it was introduced in nineteen ninety four, but the RAV4 was then introduced into the North American car market two years later, in nineteen ninety six.


The first variation of the RAV4 came between nineteen ninety six and the year two thousand, with two and four door options available. Both manual and automatic transmission were produced, to cater to both the US, Japanese and European markets. A facelift was given to the RAV4 in nineteen ninety eight, with also the introduction of the two door soft-top variation, which was sold only in the US market.

Between two thousand and one, and two thousand and five the second generation of the RAV4 was introduced, with two main variations produced. The Edge models were more basic, without colour coded bumpers which were found on the Cruiser models. Two thousand and four saw an upgrade to the car, with a new style and upgraded equipment. As a boost to the sales before the new generation of RAV4s were introduced, the RAV4 CV Sport was introduced in two thousand and five, with a more sportier and aggressive styling.

A totally new platform and styling was given to the RAV4 in two thousand and six, for the third generation of RAV4. The car was increased by size from using a new platform, with US models having a third row of sets for small children. The two door option was dropped, although the new Urban Cruiser filling the gap of a compact SUV.
